These cars park on the right of Way, blocking
the view of oncoming taffic which is always
speeding and coming around a curve. Very
hard to see the traffic, much less judge it.

Neighboring businesses are up to code as are

This is Today, Tuesday, May 24th, 2005. The city required offstreet parking is not
provided and this situation is detrimental to oncoming traffic on Jefferson Hwy and

| Mayor Paul Johnston and Council Members Roy Richardson and Tiffany Scot Wilken made attempts to enforce the code violations and it appears they came up with oral agreements and maybe some written ones. Apparently their attempts were not sufficient for the same violations are repeated this year even more blatantly. On Tuesday May 24th, 2005 the case was: Dismissed by the Harahan Prosecuting Atty. |

| May 26, 2004 To: Police Chief Peter Dale. Mayor Paul Johnston and Council Members Roy Richardson and Tiffany Scot Wilken Re: Double M Feed @ Jefferson Hwy and Woodlawn Ave.    It is my perception that you all are the only elected Harahan officials who truly represent the voters of Harahan. I am addressing you so my complaint will not fall on deaf ears and minds that will only give lip service. The pictures tell the story of Double “M”s blatant disregard for our building code. They block the street with the eighteen-wheelers delivering their supplies. They fill the right of way with their product They do not provide the required amount of parking space. Their large Dumpster sits across the drainage right of way and some times partially on the street. The truck that services the dumpster blocks the street. It is potentially dangerous as it is right in the curve of the street. The customers park in any manner convenient on both sides of the street. Woodlawn is a dead end street and often they block our access to our homes. If we had a fire or we needed an ambulance we would be in trouble. They are liable as also the city is if these conditions are allowed to remain and someone dies or loses their home because of this delay at the entrance or exit to our dead end street. The only entrance/exit to Woodlawn Ave should not be a service alley for this feed store. Sincerely, Leonard Jaeger |
